  • IAM Internship / Co-op Position

    Identity and Access Management (IAM), a key foundation of all IT Security, is all about determining who is at the other end of an Internet or network connection. Deploying IAM software allows organizations to protect, identify, verify and report on who is accessing their systems.  Whether the user is on their computer, smartphone or tablet, Nulli helps companies deploy access controls and security systems to support their internal applications, social networks, partners, and customers. Determining who is trying to access one or more applications, services, databases or fileservers is critical to the foundation of IT Security for our customers.

    Nulli is looking for IAM Interns keen to help us help companies deploy solutions that:

    • determine a users’ digital identity or persona;
    • provide or deny access to apps, databases or services based on policies maintained by the IAM services;
    • pass digital security credentials between applications on behalf of users accessing multiple apps or services;
    • monitor and record access over the course of a users’ relationship with the company or organization;
    • help users register and manage their passwords, request account access and automate routine tasks in these areas.

    The IAM Intern position is dynamic and the responsibilities will depend on your ability and potential to take on more challenging tasks.  Nulli is an IT consulting company and as such you will be exposed to highly complex and technical projects. You may work with Nulli IAM consultants and architects assisting clients.  You may work on projects where you will gain experience working with a variety of IAM tools that need to be linked and coordinated to successfully define and deploy IAM solutions.

    During your internship there may be opportunities to help build-out our IAM laboratory. This is where we develop proof-of-concept (POC) solutions using a variety of IAM tools provided by vendors like Oracle, ForgeRock, Microsoft and others.

    Nulli is offering this position as an 8-month term, starting in May, 2012. If the right candidate has a preference for a different length of term, we will consider adjusting to meet the candidate's needs. Although this is a term position, there will be opportunities to possibly extend the term or provide part-time work as you complete your schooling.  You will also have the opportunity to be considered for a full time consulting position upon graduation.

    At Nulli, you will have the chance to demonstrate your:

    • strong problem solving, analytical and communication abilities;
    • ability to work in a lively office environment where kibitzing about hiking, skiing, biking or the latest technology is rampant amongst other topics;
    • practical knowledge of working with Unix-based environments, including their installation, configuration and maintenance;
    • ability to install web-servers, application servers and other middleware software on virtual machines such as VMWare and VirtualBox;
    • interest in tinkering with firewalls, server hardware and software as well as explore ways to making Nulli office life more productive or interesting;
    • appreciation for group activities and exploring the many restaurants and coffee houses found near our offices in the neighborhood of Kensington.

    Ideally, you will have solid programming skills that allow you to work with one or more of JAVA, .Net, C++ etc. with application servers such as Tomcat, Glassfish, Weblogic, and Oracle.   Through your experience at Nulli, you’ll get you familiar with IAM tools such as LDAP directories from the likes of ForgeRock, Oracle or Microsoft and your consulting skills will be developed by being involved in real-world client engagements.
