Provisioning Expertise
Our Track Record:
Provisioning has been an integral part of our identity management practice since our initial involvement with Oblix COREid (now Oracle Access Manager). Our early provisioning solutions, however, were custom development efforts. Through repetitive experience it became clear that a consolidated provisioning solution was both feasible and desirable. When the Waveset Lighthouse product (now Sun Identity Manager) appeared, Nulli Secundus was among the first to complete an enterprise-grade implementation. During the same time period, Thor's Xcellerate (now the Oracle Identity Manager product) also emerged as a leader in the provisioning marketplace. Our traction as an OIM implementor is growing steadily.
Why We Focus Here:
It's as simple as this: Provisioning is a foundational capability required to effective identity management. Our customers stand to make the greatest gains in cost and time savings, and compliance attestation by leveraging this capability. Progress is achieved through concrete improvements to provisioning processes and increasing capacity to automate those processes.
The introduction of a provisioning solution within an enterprise can improve security, lower user management costs, and improve regulatory compliance.

Summary Definition:
Provisioning is the process of establishing, or in the case of deprovisioning, reversing the conditions required for a user to access a specific resource. It may include the creation of a user account in a database or an operating system. It may include the modification of a group membership or the edit of a flat file. Based on a pre-defined set of conditions, modern provisioning solutions provide a centralized mechanism to affect a variety of conditions on target systems. When connecting disparate systems, the availability of specialized, pre-developed adapters (connectors) may be critical in containing development and integration costs.
In the context of modern identity management it is implied that this provisioning / deprovisioning process is, at least to some degree, automated.
